SHIPPING COSTS

We help our customers with the cost of shipping. We charge a flat rate of $299 for all shipments within the Continental U.S.  Actual shipping costs can be anywhere from $500 to $700, but we cover the amount above  $299.

SHIPMENT

Shipping and delivery dates vary depending on your location and the availability of your item. We will inform you of your estimated delivery time once you have placed your order. After an order has shipped, it is impossible to change the delivery address without paying a reconsignment charge. We can send to almost any address within the lower 48 states. 

FREIGHT ITEMS

Freight shipping is required for most orders. Large items need to be shipped on pallets or on truck loads. We will send you the tracking number and carrier name when an order is placed for freight shipping.  All freight carriers will contact you to schedule an appointment for delivery.

RECEIVING FREIGHT SHIPMENT

To sign the delivery agreement and inspect the shipment, customers must be present for any delivery appointments made by freight carriers.

Freight shipments must be delivered curbside. To lower the pallet, the driver will use the lift gate and then bring it to the curb. The driver is not allowed to transport items further, such as indoors, back yards or garages.

DAMAGES TO SHIPMENT

Although freight damage is uncommon, it can happen occasionally. Modern Fireplace Ideas is not represented by freight carriers. Please check the delivery. Please call us if the shipment appears damaged. Any damage to the Driver’s Bill of Landing, (BOL) must be noted. Please refuse to accept any order that appears damaged beyond repair upon receipt. A new shipment will be shipped in its place. Also, ensure your order is complete and there are no missing items.

INSPECTION

You need to inspect your shipment immediately.

Please note that you have 48 hours in which to report any concealed damage. After that you will then be responsible for the products and we won’t be able to file a freight claim with the carrier. Freight claims cannot be accepted after this period.

Although freight damage can be very rare, it is possible to get replacement if you take the right steps. Fireplaces & Inserts are large investment and we want you to get the best possible service.

RETURN POLICY

It can cost you a lot of time and money to return a product due to buyer’s remorse or error. This extra burden is not something we want to put on our customers. Please ensure you review the specs of your unit and consult the FAQ BUYING GUIDE.

Returns of most new, unopened merchandise can be made within 30 days after delivery. The return fee will not exceed 25% plus the shipping costs. We will ship the right item on our dime if the return is due to our error. You will need to pay the return shipping costs and 25% restocking fee if you have buyer’s remorse, choose another product, or order a wrong product.

Please contact us with details of the item you wish to return and your order number. You will receive instructions on how to return the items in your order quickly.

After 30 days, returns will not be accepted. Used or installed items do not qualify for returns.

Your refund should be received within 4 weeks after you return your parcel to the shipper. However, it is possible to get your refund faster in some cases. The time frame includes transit time (5-10 business days), processing time (3-5 business days), time taken by us to look over items, and time required for your bank to refund your request (5-10 business days).

The customer is responsible for returning the product in its original condition & packaging to the warehouse. We strongly recommend that you get a tracking number and buy shipping insurance.

Returns within the 30-day period in good, unopened condition with all manuals and packaging will only be reimbursed for their purchase price. You will not receive a refund for shipping fees. (Unless the return is due to our error) Modern Fireplace Ideas may refuse to accept returns if the product has been damaged or used. If there is a problem with the item, Modern Fireplace Ideas will deduct its value.

Installation

 Fireplaces should only be installed by licensed, certified, professionals. Licensed installers will be aware of the most recent building codes and regulations. This will help ensure the safety of you and your family and ensure any manufacturer warranties are not voided.  Since we deliver nationwide Modern Fireplace Ideas does not sponsor or recommend any particular Installers.
